OpenAI sees continued attempts by threat actors to use its models for election influence

OpenAI reported in a Wednesday publication that cybercriminals are increasingly using its AI models, such as ChatGPT, to create fake content aimed at influencing elections. The company has neutralized over 20 such attempts this year, including misuse involving U.S. and Rwandan election-related content. None of these attempts achieved significant engagement.
